Nancy Bush
Promotes Voter Registration
>> Sister to President George H.W. Bush
visits RA in Europe
FRANKFURT - Republicans Abroad in Frankfurt hosted Nancy Bush Ellis as part of a three-city tour to rally overseas U.S. voters. Ms. Ellis spoke with RA members and guests in London, Paris and finally in Frankfurt on Thursday September 23.
With special thanks to Mr. Kurt Berndt, General Manager of the Frankfurt
Marriott Hotel and his team for their great hospitality, the tour supported by Cerberus, American Airlines and Wally Findlay Galleries helped rally U.S. voters across Europe.
Ellis spoke about the need to register and vote in the November 2 US elections. Under U.S law, American citizens residing overseas have the right to vote in federal elections.
Nancy Bush Ellis is the sister of former U.S. President George H.W. Bush. A resident of Boston, Massachusetts, her dedication to volunteer community service spans decades. She is co-chair of the New England section of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and the Boston United South End Settlement House. Every week she assists at the New England Medical Center and served on the Massachusetts Audubon Society Board of Directors, instrumental in establishing global environmental conservation programs.
A graduate of Vassar College in New York Ellis is a lifelong student at the Radcliffe Seminars of Harvard University. In the past she has played an active role in the elections of both her brother and her nephew, President George W. Bush. She is the mother of four children and nine grandchildren. She will be accompanied by her daughter in law Robin Rand Ellis.
RA has been active throughout Europe this election season registering voters for the November presidential elections. Nancy's visit is part of the last push to promote awareness among overseas voters of the need to register in order to take part in the November contest. "We anticipate Nancy's visit will attract the attention of those who intend to but have yet to register to vote." stated RA Germany Chairman Henry Nickel. He went on to state that with over 250,000 U.S. citizens in Germany alone and nearly 1 million across Europe, this year's participation among overseas voters is particularly important given the potentially tight margins throughout the United States.
